Education at CGA:
CGA is a unique school where students can study the US or UK curriculum or a combination of the two. Students can graduate from CGA with either a US high school diploma or an A-Level qualification (Pearson EdExcel). Andrew Carlsberg

Andrew has a bachelor's degree in History and Sociology (with honors). Over the past 15 years, Andrew has taught history, global perspectives, geography, sociology, youth sociology and ICT in New Zealand and Europe. Andrew has held key positions such as Head of Secondary School, at the English International School in Prague Macleans College and John McGlashan College. Andrew directed the Gifted and Talented Children Program at Macleans College, which included coordinating the New Zealand Scholarship Examination program. Andrew Carlsberg started teaching as a history specialist in the UK back in 2001 before going to Prague in 2004 to help open the senior wing of the International English School. He was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time, and eventually led a senior team through a period of tremendous growth.

Barry William Gough

Barry is a Wolf Fisher Fellowship Fellow and has been teaching for over 30 years. Barry has received teaching awards from ZEITA and has worked as a curriculum development consultant for the New Zealand Ministry of Education and NZQA. Most recently Barry taught IGCSE, A-Level and NZ Scholarship at Macleans College. In 2018, Barry taught 20 students who received scholarships in English, of which three were at the "outstanding" level; by a significant margin higher than at any other school in New Zealand. In addition, Barry has seen several students achieve top marks, as well as receive Top in the World and Top in New Zealand awards in English literature. He was selected by the Ministry of Education to support English teachers in Portland and Oakland high schools with their new curricula.

David Storey

David has a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Newcastle University and has more than 25 years of teaching experience in New Zealand and the UK. He taught A-Level and IB mathematics programs at Pinehurst and at ACG Senior College, where he served as head of the Mathematics department, and also taught all HL mathematics courses and Advanced mathematics classes. With a wealth of experience in introducing new technologies in schools, David is a proponent of innovations related to e-learning and online learning in high schools. The city that David called home before moving to New Zealand was the industrial center of Northern England. The beginning of his teaching career in the central part of Newcastle was really a baptism of fire, and after 8 years David emigrated to the beautiful Taranaki to become a HOD mathematician at the New Plymouth Boys' High School, conveniently located two minutes away from good surfing spots.

Cheryl Husband

Cheryl has a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Auckland University and has more than 20 years of teaching experience in New Zealand and the USA. She taught the curriculum from Junior Secondary to Higher, which gave her extensive knowledge of the curriculum from IGCSE, A Level, IB, AP and University curriculum. Throughout her career, Cheryl has held positions at schools such as Kristin, Pinehurst and Auckland International College. Her extensive understanding of international curricula at all levels of study has enabled her students to achieve excellent results in all curricula, including SAT subject tests in chemistry. She always lived according to the mantra "Risked nothing - won nothing" and was an open-minded risk taker. This prompted her to teach various academic programs, including NCAA, IB Diploma, CIE, and now Edexcel.

After leaving the request, our specialist contacts you and tells about our programs in more details

Step 2: Test lesson

Student is provided with a trial lesson with an Education Online teacher. The teacher will assess the English-level, academic knowledge, and review the student's goals during the lesson.

Step 3: Getting recommendations

Following the Trial Lesson, an Educate Online advisor will recommend programs suitable to help each individual student to achieve their goals.

Step 4: Payment

Following the admissions review, an offer of admission will be provided along with a tuition invoice for payment.
