Sundar Pichai was born in Madras [now Chennai]. As a boy growing up in Madras, Pichai slept with his brother in the living room of the cramped family home, but his father, an electrical engineer at the British multinational GEC, saw that the boys received a good education.
After earning a degree in metallurgy and a silver medal at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, Sundar was awarded a scholarship to study at Stanford University (M.S. in engineering and materials science). He remained in the United States working briefly in Applied Materials and then earning an MBA from The Wharton School of Business at UPenn. Later Sundar joined McKinsey & Company as a management consultant.
In 2004, Sundar joined Google as a manager. He worked on Google's client software products, including Google Chrome, Chrome OS, Google Drive.
Sundar Pichai became the CEO of Google on 10 August 2015. In 2019, he was appointed as the new CEO of Alphabet Inc., the parent company of Google.
Satya Narayana Nadella was born in Hyderabad to a family of a Sanskrit lecturer and an administrative service officer.
He studied electrical engineering at Mangalore University. After moving to the United States, he completed a master’s degree in computer science at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. He went to work at Sun Microsystems, Inc., as a member of its technology staff.
He joined Microsoft in 1997, where he initially worked on developing Windows NT. While working full-time at Microsoft, Nadella also earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago.
In 2000, he secured his first executive role as vice president of Microsoft Central.
Satya Nadella became the CEO of Microsoft in 2014 and continues in this role today.
Parag Agrawal was born in Mumbai. Parag's mother is a retired school teacher. His father was employed in the atomic energy sector and held senior positions there.
He holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, and a Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford University.
Agrawal held research positions at Microsoft, Yahoo, and AT&T Labs before settling at Twitter.
Parag joined Twitter in 2011. Initially, at Twitter, he worked on ad-related products and in artificial intelligence. In 2017, when he was promoted to the role of Twitter CTO.
On the 29th of November, 2021, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey announced his retirement and announced that Agrawal will become the next CEO of the company.
Indra Nooyi was born in Madras [now Chennai] in a middle-class family.
Nooyi earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Madras Christian College in 1976 and a master's degree in business administration from the Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta two years later. After moving to the United States, she received an additional master's degree in public and private management from the Yale School of Management.
For the next six years, Nooyi worked as a consultant for the Boston Consulting Group. She later held executive positions at Motorola, Inc., and the engineering firm Asea Brown Boveri (now ABB).
In 1994 Nooyi joined PepsiCo as senior vice president of corporate strategy and development. In 2001 she was named president and chief financial officer of the company. Nooyi served as the PepsiCo CEO (2006–18) and chairman of the board (2007–19).
